As with the ability to switch Weapons via the weapon panel, why not tie the skill bar to the weapon switching?
That way you can maximize the setup, ie packing a Hammer have Warrior Skills that promote the use of that weapon. Or elementist packing staffs for fire then they can have a fire skills available with that setup then when they switch to a Water based weapon the skill switch to water based skill to help maximize that roll of the character.
I think with skill sets that change with weapon sets the character can maximize it roll to it's fullest. and if someone yells about the attribs then set them the same way or the the character must be balance if the player wants to have different setups.

This is a horrible idea.
4 weapon slots...4 skill sets....32 skills per player?
Do not waste bandwidth like that please.
Also, start your own thread.
Do not hijack this one if yours keep getting closed. The idea you are talking about is horrible, and would be closed.
32 skills per player. Yea right.

Horrible idea huh????
so the idea of 32 skills or simply more skill slots is horrible?????
My object was to present an idea that could be worked on not shot down. if you are the one to pass judgement on all presented ideas then why even have this forum???? That would be a horrible concept also!!!!!
If bandwidth is an issue the idea can be redesigned to work within those limitations!
and as for the starting of my own topic, I found an existing topic which was closed since the person closing state the subject list here under this topic again if you feel that was a bad idea to post here then reopen the closed topic that redirected me here in the first place!
and if you feel the idea is that horrible then why even have the ability to switch weapons in combat/mission/quest areas force the player to use only one weapon/armor/item set and ramp up their skills for JUST that ONE weapon/armor/item setup this forces the player to specialize in one playing form for each run! even turn off the ability to change weapons/armor/items through the inventory screen! basically lock all weapons/armor/items, skills and attrib's for each mission/quest!
that should help with bandwidth!

A-Net i beg u, plead with u, please incorporate this into the game. There is nothing worse than messing about with skills and attributes when u could be out gaming. It will allow you to start working on a build then save it and come back to it without having to spend 5 mins sorting things out. Of all the things in GW that are mentioned and noticed this does not seem like a large or difficult request. People who don't want it, wont affect them and people that want it, will want your babies for including it.
please a-net

Great idea, would be awsome to be able to save over the old prebuilds as you got more skills. This way you don't have peices of paper on the side (like I do) full of builds and exact attributes etc.

There should be an NPC only accessible by PvP characters, that lets you change EVERYTHING you get to choose during character creation, but without actually deleting the character. That way people could PvP with their mules.
That, or a temporary storage only usable by PvP characters that lets you transfer all non-customized items with a single click. When you log on with a PvP character the next time, items are immediately transfered to your character. Or you get a popup asking if you want to transfer now, maybe a warning that the storage is only temporary etc.
Sorry about the sidetracking, but I do believe that if such a change was implemented (if it's not too much trouble) a lot of players would be very happy.

Did anyone hear Weapon of Choice last night? Izzy, that head skill balancer said that there will never be more than 8 skills per player.
Izzy said that, so get off the idea, bitches.
Still, the customization of pre-builds is a good idea, and A.Net will never impliment it. They will never impliment it, because it does not sell new accounts.

we need presets so bad, its not even funny. I'm tired so didnt read whole tread, but did a search and there are lots of topics about presets. ANET is not doing anything about it. I mean, we spend so much time on builds, that could be used for something more useful, like excercise. Yea, I think not most of you will for sure play more. lol.
But yea, guys, join forces and next time you see Gaile in D1, spam her, Anet will get the point.

The problem with this is that, is takes a lot a server space.
The solution is to let you use client-side .txt files as templates, and then include an export/import option. That would be a good addition.

It does not need to take up server space. If anyone have played Magic the Gathering Online, you will notice that you are able to save .dec files with decks that you have made. This gets stored in your computer and could be easily uploaded and etc.
Currently I am using screenshots with the Hero menu up to remind myself what builds I have available.

I do mostly PVE but in PVP I use same char.
I think that there is both here.
If I am hijacking this blame the links for PVE & PVP build saves here.
If you could save extra builds of skills and attribute allotment for a character that could only be set in town that would work.
My suggestion would be that you get one build at say lvl 20 + 1 (skill point increase only at this time)
The next build maybe be the reward for a special mission completion
Maybe another at lvl 20 + 10
And the fourth and final from either a special mission or lvl 20 + 20 + top title in something for the character (like defender or explorer)
I would even be happy with only two or three presets that I could switch between.
I will save my armor suggestion for another thread

I know you posted this like a month ago. But you are too stupid for me not to post.
Can't you see that he means, when you change your weapons INSIDE A TOWN!, He doesnt mean you can have 32 skills equipped at the same time.
And the hijacking thing..why would anyone want to hijack a thread?
Some people are just stupid beyond reason

I'd love to see a way to be able to store builds for characters kind of like weapon sets. Of course you could only change in town but wouldn't it be nice to just push a button and poof, skills and attributes are set to be a healer, another button, protector, smiter, etc., without having to take several minutes to make changes while everyone waits on you?

Rerolling over and over and over does get tiring after a while, as I play a multitude of builds (and sometimes I just want to change my character's look XD).
